KPIs: Metrics That Measure (and Inspire) Success

This edition of the ReWild Your Business Workshop series is about Key Performance Indicators, or KPIs as they're more commonly known. Most business owners have heard of KPIs and may use them to some extent, but few are getting the full benefit of KPIs. In this workshop, we'll look at how to know which metrics you should be tracking as well as how to use them to inspire success for your team.

Three Faces of a Leader

As a leader, your business requires you to be a Visionary, a Manager, and a Specialist. But depending on the Stage your business is in, the proportion of time spent doing each of those things will be different. Most people have a personal preference and that is what they lean on; but if their natural tendency doesn’t fit with what the organization needs, it can result in a leader who is disconnected from the reality of the business.

In this workshop, you’ll learn what each of the Three Faces involves as well as what is required of you as a leader for the Stage your business is currently in.

Organizational Structure

Organizational Structure refers to the way in which the work that you do is organized, and it’s critical in the early stages of a business. Many businesses organize work around an individual person, but when that person leaves it’s very challenging to fill that spot. Instead, businesses are better served by designing the structure of the work based on the company’s needs and then assigning people to the work.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the basic principles that will help you create a resilient business that can adapt to growth and to changes in personnel. Organizational Structure requires periodic refinement because as the company grows, the nature of the work changes, making it relevant at every stage of growth.

Developing Master Processes

Most likely, your business has processes that impact everything from customer service to finances. When is the last time you stopped to consider them, though? Are they as effective as they could be? Are they documented, or do they rely on key people in order to function?

Master Processes are foundational to consistency with your service or product and efficiency within your team. In this workshop we’ll discuss the four areas of business most impacted by process and share principles that can make your business more efficient, consistent, and profitable.

Why a Strong Management Team Matters

Every business owner or leader needs a strong management team in order to gain the time and energy needed to work ON the business, not just IN the business. If you want your business to grow and become less dependent on you as the CEO, you need to build a business that’s less reliant upon you.

In this workshop we’ll cover the basics of what it means to build a strong management team, including what that team needs to function independently from the owner. You’ll understand the key principles that you can apply to your own business as well as the critical points in your business’ growth when more managers are necessary.

Builder-Protector Ratio

A company’s psyche can be measured by the level of confidence (Builders) and caution (Protectors) in the organization. The ideal ratio of risk-taking Builders to risk-adverse Protectors changes as the organization grows.

In this workshop, you’ll understand the importance of Builders and Protectors, see how these two dynamic attitudes impact your organization, and learn tangible ways to achieve the right balance between confidence and caution.

An Overview of the Stages of Growth

What Stage of Growth are you in? Should you be focused on ramping up, delegating, or integrating? What key elements are most important for your business?

In this workshop, you’ll learn why the number of people in your organization determines your Stage of Growth. We’ll look at each of the Stages, understand the unique characteristics of the Stage and which transitions are the most challenging. You’ll take away tangible strategies for guiding your organization in it’s current Stage and in the Stages to come.

Growing a Strong Management Team

Managers play a critical role, yet few of them receive the necessary training. Known as the “Management Gap,” most leaders take their first management role at the age of 28 and don’t receive their first management training class until the age of 42.

A Strong Management Team is one of the key elements of an exceptional business. During this hour-long webinar, you will learn the four areas that Managers need to focus on in order to successfully manage their team. You will also learn how Management must adapt to facilitate growth across all seven Stages of Growth.

The Non-Negotiable Rules of Business Development

The Non-Negotiable Rules are a key dimension of the Stages of Growth. Failure to abide by the Rules results in stunted growth, backward movement, or worse. Divided into 6 functional areas of the business, they ensure companies grow proportionally.

In this webinar, you’ll learn about the Business Development Rules, focusing on the functions of a company that generate, sustain, and grow revenue. You’ll see the Rules that you’re currently facing, the Rules from the past that need to be addressed, and the Rules you’ll need to tackle as you grow.

Climate **Management Team Edition**

How does your management team have a tangible impact on the engagement and success of your staff? It comes down to Climate. There is a Climate in your team, in your department, and in your organization as a whole. Chances are - if you haven’t intentionally set it – the Climate you have is probably not the one you truly want.

In this webinar, you will learn a simple, actionable, and powerful formula to activate and engage your staff through Climate.

The Transition Zones and Gates of Focus

As your business grows through the Stages of Growth, it oscillates between Functional Zones and Transition Zones. The needs and focus of the organization differ, based on which Zone it’s currently in.

In this webinar, you will discover your business’s current Zone, what focuses are required in that Zone to promote growth, and when you can anticipate that to change.

Three Faces of a Leader

There is an ideal proportion of time for a leader to spend wearing the Visionary, Manager, and Specialist Faces. As an organization grows, these proportions change. Misalignment in the Three Faces of a Leader leads to difficulty with culture, employee turnover, lack of staff buy-in, and an organization that is destabilized by chaos.

In this webinar, you will take a critical look at how you are currently spending your time as a leader, compare it to the ideal for your business’s Stage of Growth, and learn tangible ways to make any necessary adjustments to create the optimal environment for business growth.
