Matthew Pohl
Entrepreneur, Business Owner, & CEO of The Rewild Group
I became the owner of a small business after several years in a successful data analytics career. The calling to create something of my own had grown stronger and stronger— an entrepreneurial bent that I owe to my dad, who was also a small business owner.
That’s why it was so difficult for me to receive a valuation of my company and realize that, after 12 years of enormous sacrifice and hard work, my company was worth far less than I expected. I wanted a successful exit from my business and was willing to do everything within my power to leverage what I had built and make it attractive for someone to buy one day.
I started looking around for solutions, and that’s when I came across the Stages of Growth methodology. I took those principles and concepts and applied them to my business. The results were extraordinary. In just three years, the value of the company increased 10x. I sold my business at a price that truly reflected my investment.
I could have retired at that point. But after experiencing the power of the Stages of Growth methodology, I wanted to bring it to the market so that others could benefit too. That’s how the ReWild Group was born.
Projects & Interests
I’ve spent almost a decade learning, developing, and applying the Organizational ReWilding Stages of Growth methodology. The depth and effectiveness of the framework continue to amaze me. I enjoy sharing this information with business leaders (owners, CEOs, presidents) and business advisers (coaches, consultants, confidantes). As a lifelong learner, I’m also deeply interested in hearing what’s working (or not working) for other business-minded people.
I’ve authored a series of books called the Organizational ReWilding Rules for Business Growth (available on Amazon and The ReWild Group website). Each book looks at one of the seven stages in detail, explaining the governing principles that best serve a business of that size and using illustrations to show how the concepts play out in real life.
I’m working on a new series called The Element Guidebook Series. These books are applicable to businesses of all sizes and go deeper into the 11 elements that make an exceptional business. As with the prior series, illustrations are used to make the concepts come to life.
Personal Life
When I’m not writing or consulting, I enjoy being outdoors in the beautiful state of Colorado I call home, spending time with my wife, four kids, and seven grandkids. I try to hike a 14er each summer.
